MSHO Supports Cancer Clinical Research Efforts in Michigan
MSHO is committed to furthering the advancement of cancer care by supporting the many organizations that provide cancer clinical trials to Michigan's cancer patients.
With clinical trials being performed in Michigan at our prestigious academic medical centers and successful NCI Community Clinical Oncology Programs (CCOPs), cancer patients of Michigan should be able to consider a cancer clinical trial as a potential treatment option for their disease.

The American Cancer Society Clinical Trials Matching Service is a free, confidential program that helps patients, their families and health care workers find clinical trials most appropriate to a patient's medical and personal situation.
Clinical Trial Support Center Available to Connect Patients with Blood Cancer to Clinical Trials
ASH and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Clinical Trial Support Center (CTSC) have collaborated to enhance access to LLS’s free service providing clinical trials navigation and support to health care professionals, and patients with blood cancer and their families. ASH member physicians and their care teams, along with patients and caregivers, receive one-on-one support from LLS's CTSC Nurse Navigators and have direct access to them for the duration of the search and enrollment process, and while patients are on the trials. LLS’s Nurse Navigators play a critical role in investigating which trials are open and currently enrolling, and thus are needed now more than ever to provide direction. ASH members can learn more about the service and patient referral process by visiting the ASH portal.
PDQ (Physician Data Query) is NCI's comprehensive cancer database. It contains summaries on a wide range of cancer topics; a registry of 8000+ open and 19,000+ closed cancer clinical trials from around the world; and a directory of professionals who provide genetics services. PDQ also contains the NCI Dictionary of Cancer Terms, with definitions for 6000+ cancer and medical terms, and the NCI Drug Dictionary, which has information on 1200+ agents used in the treatment of cancer or cancer-related conditions.
